EL1012A Ergorapido Hand Vacuum Review

EL1012A Ergorapido Hand Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the most INCREDIBLE stick vac and hand vac! I really LOVE it! I am used to my Kirby and while I adore it, I was really curious about this item. My opinion is that Electrolux has a wonderful reputation and paired with the potentially extreme convenience I decided to give this a try. I have 2 babies, 2 kitties, hardwood floors throughout with some ceramic tile and a couple of area rugs. This item is fabulous on each and every surface! I use it on all floor surfaces, rugs, furniture, even bedding (ie: kitties go under the bed leaving their fur on the dust ruffles) with great results! It will pick up kitty hair, remodeling dust, new rug shedding, cheerios, and more! I've seen gripes about emptying the 'chamber' and, in my opinion, if you don't want your stick vac to pick up debris - find a cheaper stick vac! This one is absolutely wonderful, worth every penny and then some! Buy It!

Shark VX3 Cordless Floor-and-Carpet Cleaner, V1950 Review

Shark VX3 Cordless Floor-and-Carpet Cleaner, V1950
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Do NOT buy this if you think it will replace your vacuum. I have a 2 year old and a VERY good vacuum on hand that I use once a week (though I probably should vacuum twice a week). For all the messes that occur in between (probably 2-3x a day), I use the Shark to make my life easier.
I'm currently a stay at home mom with a toddler and she leaves crumbs EVERYWHERE. We live in a small apartment, so the dining room is a spit's throw from the living room and it's almost unavoidable to have toddlers (my kid, my kid's friends, my friends' kids...) carrying their muffins, snacks, crackers, pretzels around and about the living area. I got the Shark more because my daughter was terrified of loud sounds and my regular vacuum cleaner, but have found that the nice bonus is that it's so much easier to lug this one out 2-3 times a day to pick up crumbs right after snack time (and hence avoid having it ground into the rugs) than to pull out my heavy Bissell.
Pros: It's lightweight, very quiet, convenient, and effective for picking up visible crumbs if used correctly.
Cons: It doesn't do heavy-duty or deep cleaning; the price-tag can be steep; Shark sweepers are known to break down after a few months to a year.
My mom has an older version of the Shark sweeper, which is much more quiet than this one. She's a waitress and uses it to tidy up the floor under the tables in between customers. Obviously, she's subjecting it to pretty heavy use, and she's now on her third one. Her recommendations on making it last a long as possible: clean the sweeper thoroughly after a few uses (that includes pulling out accumulated hair in the brushes and washing the collection bin) and charge the battery according to directions (do not allow to sit for longer than 19 hours at a time charging, you will reduce battery life).
The Shark Vx3 is a little louder than hers. But I like the fact that it has two speed settings (supposedly for floor and carpet). The handle bends so that you can push it under furniture, which is a little helpful, but kinda awkward and (knowing that the Shark sweeper handles are notorious for breaking off) I prefer to not use it at all. The Shark Vx3 also has a little rotator brush on the side, which is supposed to pick up crumbs as you push it against the side of a wall, but I wish that they had thought to put a rotator brush on both sides. They claim also that you can push a button and dump out the collection cup without ever having to touch the dirt. This is true in theory, but in practice, the lid often catches or there is dirt stuck in the bin that you have to shake it out--so it's almost unavoidable to touch the bin or dirt. No big deal--just wash your hands afterwards.
The bottom line: don't expect to replace your vacuum. And here's the KEY to use the sweeper most effectively -- push it SLOWLY and repeatedly over the pile of crumbs that you intend to pick up. I found that if you tried to push the sweeper back and forth quickly like a regular vacuum, it didn't pick up anything, just pushed the dirt around.
If you found this review helpful, please let me know!

Shark 2-in-1 Cordless Stick Vac and Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, SV800\VX63 Review

Shark 2-in-1 Cordless Stick Vac and Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, SV800\VX63
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This cordless vac is wonderful & so easy to use. Incredible suction. I use it to vacuum kitchen--it gets under the cabinets and picks up everything--I have a lot of dog hair. Also use it on my door mats and around them on the patio. Just don't try to pick up anything big. I also use it on my carpet for little jobs. I like not having to get out my Dyson, plug it in, etc. just for small jobs. It is very easy to empty filter and pop back in. I like that it is 2 in 1 and easy to take apart and use as a hand vac with the little attachment.
I have thrown away a lot of money on similar products (the worst was the Swivel Sweeper).

A smart addition to any busy household, this cordless stick vac features a power nozzle that lifts and traps dust, dirt, debris, and pet hair from low-pile carpets and bare-floor surfaces such as tile, linoleum, or hardwood. Its motorized brush roll can be set to low or high speed for customizing the suction power depending on the floor type. The cleaner also provides swivel steering for effortless maneuverability around furniture and ultra-lightweight construction. It can also be used to prep floors before washing them with the Shark steam mop (sold separately). The two-in-one stick vac not only cleans floors throughout the house, but it also converts to a handheld vacuum cleaner for quick, everyday pickups of dirt and dry spills on furniture, countertops, kitchen floors, and other high-traffic places in the home. Even more, a crevice tool on the handheld unit makes it possible to access tight spots and corners like along window sills or between couch cushions. A rechargeable battery and three foam filters come included. The two-in-one vacuum cleaner measures approximately 10-2/5 by 5-2/7 by 49-1/5 inches.

Black & Decker PSV1800 18-Volt Cordless Pivoting Floor Vacuum Cleaner Review

Black and Decker PSV1800 18-Volt Cordless Pivoting Floor Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This cordless vacuum cleaner (I LOVE cordless vacuum cleaners) has a lot of positives to recommend it. It does a great job for quick (dog hair) clean ups. Good suction. Good on the edges and area rugs. Easy to maneuver. Really gets under most furniture without argument or bumps, and even fits between the chair legs (in our house). The battery lasts. Feels substantial. Stores easily and out of the way.
A good machine.
But the dirt removal is a problem. Like most quick clean vacuums, there is way too much hand-to-gunk contact. But unlike machines that have some version of a cup that you can empty, this machine needs to be folded, lifted and held over the trash bin. And the weight that made the machine feel solid, is now awkward and unbalanced and makes emptying the dirt an aggravation. For some of us, this is a problem, even with our Wheaties.
Maybe placing the machine into a plastic grocery bag that's on the floor and then opening the dust bin to empty, and then reaching my hand in to pull out the two filters for cleaning? Is that the answer?
I don't know. If somehow the ease of cleaning out the dirt from the Hoover Linx could be combined with the ease of actually using the B&D Pivoting Floor Vacuum ("pivoting" because it folds in half), I would be wild happy.

No more having to lug out the big vacuum cleaner to keep the house looking nice from day to day. This lightweight 18-volt vacuum cleaner works great for sucking up dirt, pet fur, and everyday dry messes--with easy mobility from room to room thanks to its sleek, cordless design. The unit features cyclonic action that keeps dirt off the filter for long-lasting suction power, innovative side-suction vents for effective edge cleaning along baseboards and walls, and an exclusive pivoting action that makes it possible to clean effortlessly under furniture. Turn the motorized brush roll on for vacuuming carpets, or switch it off to protect hard-floor surfaces. In addition, the unit's three-stage filtration system helps ensure cleaner air exhaust, and its bagless dirt canister empties easily so hands stay clean. A charging stand comes included, and the vacuum folds in half for compact charging and storage. With an Energy Star rating for efficient operation, the floor vacuum cleaner measures approximately 10-4/5 by 7 by 52 inches and carries a full two-year warranty.

Shark V1950 Cordless VX3 Carpet & Floor Sweeper Review

Shark V1950 Cordless VX3 Carpet and Floor Sweeper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The people at Shark and Euro-Pro cleaning companies have always known how to make so many great products with vacuums, and carpet sweepers. Nevertheless, when it comes down to it, it really is on how well the vacuum really lasts. Shark's previous cordless sweepers have all done a great job at picking up after everyday messes, but they have been some glitches. I was honestly very skeptical with the latest model when I saw it on television, and I liked it a lot, but as I started to use it, I was hoping for just a bit more. Here is my verdict.
The Shark VX3 Cordless Sweeper is the latest in Euro-Pro's well-recieved carpet sweeper line. This one does a good job at picking up after pet hair and fuzz, and is very simple to setup. You can pick up actually a lot of pet hair, fuzz, or anything off your floors and carpets. It is easy to charge up, and does really works well. The no-mess dust cup is very simple to clean up, and easily removes all that was picked up from the floors. The vacuum is also very easy to carry around, and take from room to room, without feeling the drag of carrying around your vacuum and getting a backache.
That is what I think, even though there really are a few problems that still make could've been a bit easier to pick up after. The first problem deals with the battery. ou have to really keep the sweeper plugged in to your outelt for at least a day, inorder to fully charge a the battery. The VX3's battery also could've had a bit stronger battery life than just an hour long. The second problem deals with the backsaver feature. While the VX3 does pick up well, and is easy to operate, I had a tricky time manuvering the VX3 with the backsaver handle. While the concept is ingenius at folding the handle to make it easier at picking up under the beds and those hard-to-reach areas, it is honestly a little bit harder to control and steer the sweeper.
Still, despite a few problems with the Shark VX3 Cordless Sweeper, I still think it is a very good buy for anyone who wants a easier way to clean up after all those messes on the floor. It just does a great job at really cleaning up your floors and is great for small homes and apartments, or any home that works at a great pace. While you can get this though the As Seen On TV ads, you also can find this at your nearest Macy's for around $70, instead of getting both the VX3 and VX1 models like the infomercial says in its offer for $130. So, suck those problems on the floor away, and try this sweeper out.

Setup: B+
Easy To Operate: B 1/2-

Bionaire 2 in 1 Stick Vac Review

Bionaire 2 in 1 Stick Vac

I purchased the Bionaire model 8002 from the Penney's catalog. The first one had to be returned/replaced by Penney's because the mechanism releasing the hand vac was damaged.
The replacement never has had any power. Even fully charged it runs sluggishly for less than 10 minutes.
I've had it too long to expect a Penney's refund or replacement. Would like to contact the manufacturer to see if we can reach a beneficial resolution.
I think I have a dud!

Dirt Devil Accucharge 15.6 Volt ENERGY STAR Cordless Bagless Stick Vac, BD20035RED Review

Dirt Devil Accucharge 15.6 Volt ENERGY STAR Cordless Bagless Stick Vac, BD20035RED
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this Dec '09 after about two weeks of research on lightweight vacs. I needed one that could handle: LOTS of dog hair (retriever/spitz mix!), four kids, the usual kitchen crumbs, area rugs, hardwood floors, tile and very low nap carpeting (whew!). We also have a woodstove and frequently have small leaves and wood debris from the logs being brought in the house. In the past, I have tried Bissel Turbo Sweep (kept breaking) and the Shark (new version with one side brush; battery died after one year and brush roll got so full of hair that it was a pain to try to keep it clean). Tired of batteries dying or the vac dying!
A big problem with cordless vacs is that the battery will inevitably die out on you within a year because of "overcharging" it. I really liked that this vac has a "smart charger" that only charges the vac what it needs and then reduces the charge to a trickle so that the battery does not get overcharged. The charger base is about the size of a dustpan and holds the vac in place well, so you'll need a place on the floor that you can park it. Handle does fold down if that makes a difference in your storage options.
First, the "cons": plastic body feels a little flimsy; it is awkward (but doable) on steps; whole body of vac swivels and not just the nozzle when you pivot it and takes a little getting used to; handle is NOT ergonomic and vac starts to feel hand "heavy" after a while (I can still use the vac with just my forefinger wrapped around the end of the handle and that helps). Also, if you are vacuuming a very dirty rug, the dirt cup will fill quickly and will lose suction.
Now the "pros": this vac REALLY picks stuff up! I am AMAZED at the amount of dog hair, crumbs, etc this thing will pull in! (Good-bye, doggie tumbleweeds!) Great for kitchen; scatter rugs get clean without being sucked up into the vac; great on tile, hardwood and low nap carpets. I also like the brushroll on/off feature so I can go from hardwood to carpet easily. Gets the edges clean too. The head of the vac is smaller than I thought, so if you can't get the edges clean going alongside it, I can get it clean coming straight at the edge. Now things like dog food and air soft pellets (two boys) will rattle around if you vac them up, so I usually end up emptying the dirt cup if that happens. Noise is moderate; it is, after all, a vacuum. Noise increases a bit if dirt cup gets full. Fully charged initially in under six hours, and again, place it back in its charger base and it will charge only what it needs (charging light goes out when vac is fully charged again). Have not used it enough to wear out the battery charge as I try to keep it's continual use under 10 minutes. It has a two year warranty on it, which I think is above average. After I vac my den carpet, and after about every other use on regular floors, I use my big vac to really clean the filter and filter screen as that is a key to getting good suction with these type of vacs. This thing picks up so much dog hair and dirt that I usally have to empty the dirt cup out at least once when I use it on my den rug, but not having to lug my 21- pound sears vac around is worth it. If the dirt cup was larger, it would be near perfect! I currently use Swiffer sweeper pole for my hardwoods and it looks like this vac will pay for itself within six months of not having to buy those refills all the time! So, I guess the only thing left to find out now is how long this will last!
PS: The dirt cup release button looks like you depress it downward, but actually you have to press upwards on it or you might break it! Also, on deeply patterned area rugs, it does not do a good job; but again for scatter rugs and everything else I mentioned, it does. Hope this helps!

Move easily from carpet to hard floors with an on/off brushroll switch at your fingertips. When the unit is charging, the AccuCharge circuitry constantly monitors the battery. Traditional Ni-Cad Battery Charging Systems When traditional Ni-Cad battery systems are kept plugged into the wall, energy (or current) is constantly being pumped into the unit. Even after the battery is fully charged, it still continues to supply it energy. This sends heat to the batteries and "cooks" them, damaging the battery cells. This damage to the batteries gradually decreases run time and also wastes energy.
AccuCharge™ Technology The AccuCharge system constantly monitors the unit's batteries and charging status. This "smart charger" recognizes when the unit is fully charged and then reduces power to the unit to a trickle charge for maintenance. This prevents power and heat from constantly being pumped into the batteries and "cooking" them. AccuCharge also uses an efficient switch mode charging adaptor, which combined with AccuCharge circuitry utilizes less energy. In a recent study, the use of Dirt Devil's acclaimed AccuCharge technology showed to maintain charge more than twice as long as regular batter charging technology. Since the AccuCharge Stick Vac can easily be set on its dock for charging, there is no need to worry about loose batteries or needing spares. ENERGY STAR certified AccuCharge technology will reduce electricity usage to only a trickle once your battery is fully charged. You can store your stick vac on the charger without having to worry about wasting energy, space, or money.

Shark Cordless Floor-and-Carpet Cleaner, V1930 Review

Shark Cordless Floor-and-Carpet Cleaner, V1930
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just bought this today so I cant tell you how wonderful it still works after many uses but I can tell you that it worked absolutely wonderfully on my very yuckie, dirty, Cheerio crumb infested (toddler in the house) kitchen floor. I will never use a broom and dust pan again. Well, maybe the broom, but only to quickly sweep the stuff the Shark can't reach under the lower cupboards (we live in an old apt which may have something to do with that). Not a big deal. I just swept it into the middle of the floor and then sucked it all right up with the Shark. It picks up much more than the broom/dust pan method, even better than my Hoover on the "hard floor" setting! It made mopping the old fashioned not so "yuckie." Now Im starting to eye the steam mops. Here's to no more getting on my hands and knees to clean the floors!
I also tried it out on the carpet (more crumbs!) and it worked the same. Great! This product obviously wont replace your regular vacuum, but for quick, light clean ups, and for "pre-mopping" vacuuming it does the job very well.

Bissell Perfect Sweep Turbo Powered Triple Brush Sweeper, 2880B Review

Bissell Perfect Sweep Turbo Powered Triple Brush Sweeper, 2880B
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this handy sweeper from Sears because I wanted something to pick up after the kids and our pets without having to lug the big vacuum out all the time just to clean up small messes. I was initially skeptical at first, but I knew I would be able to return it to Sears if I wasn't entirely satisfied. The setup and assembly was very quick. Just screw the wands together, attach it to the base, then charge it up. The first charge needs a full 16 hours to condition the batteries, thereafter the unit only needs 12 hours to recharge. I couldn't believe what this thing picked up. Everything from cat hair, litter, crumbs, and just about everything else that manages to find its way to the floor and carpet. Of course, sweepers aren't meant for big, hefty jobs, or for deep cleaning your carpets(this is a job for your vacuum), but they sure come in handy for in-between cleanups of small spills and messes. However, it's important to remember that sweepers are *NOT* vacuums. They have NO suction. They are designed to "sweep" the surface of your carpet and floors for quick, light pick-ups. That being said, I've been completely let down by Dustbusters and all those other "handvacs" that really didn't do anything but make a bunch of noise and lose their power after about 10 minutes of use. After using this, I figure I should only need to thoroughly vacuum once or twice a week now, instead of the usual everyday vacuuming that I used to do...
Bissell has designed a real winner here. I'm just curious to see how long the unit and the batteries will last. For some reason, they're still using old NiCad technology here, which is famous for developing the "memory effect" that renders them all but useless after about a year or so. The manual also says the batteries are NOT replaceable and must be disposed of when the unit has reached its useful life... The sweeper has a one(1)year warranty, so we'll see how that works out. For now, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase, and would recommend this to anyone who needs a sweeper or simply wants a quick fix for lugging the main vacuum out all the time. Excellent product!

Bissell Versus Cordless Bare-Floor Vacuum, 21R9 Review

Bissell Versus Cordless Bare-Floor Vacuum, 21R9
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a huge fan of Bissell products and everything that I have ever bought from the company has been a roaring success in our house. We have the Bissell Quick Steamer and the Bissell Steam Mop. Both of these little vacuums get a workout in our house, but I have yet to find a cordless vacuum that I am happy with. We bought a Shark which I absolutely loved until it burned out two years later. The next investment was our Dirt Devil Vibe. The suction was great for about a month and then it just stopped picking up. Since then I have been making do with a good old-fashioned broom and pan, but I always keep my eyes peeled for a cordless vacuum that works.
Bissell sent over their new Bissell Versus Cordless Bare Floor Vacuum and I couldn't wait to open it up. As with all cordless vacuums it requires a good charging before it will work so I had to wait until the next day to use it. Upon it charging, I was ready to roll and I had two willing and messy children to help me break it in. After a morning breakfast of cornflakes (for Ethan) and Cheerios (for Emily), we had the perfect scenario for testing out this vacuum.
The first thing you will notice about this vacuum is that it is an unusual shape. The design might not make sense at first, but when you are trying to get in those crevices around your furniture, it makes complete sense. It is a V-shape design that allows you to get right against your kitchen table and chairs without having to manuever around it. It does require a little manuevering though when you are trying to get around the outer perimeters of your room, but you just line it up against the wall and push around that way.
This vacuum has great suction and within minutes, I could see that it had picked up every last little cornflake bit and Cheerio. Again, the design factor comes into play on this model because the V-shaped design helps so that you aren't scooting stuff around (as I had experienced with other cordless models) and actually suctions it into the center.
While intended for bare floors, you could also use this vacuum on low pile carpeting. The vacuum is brushless so you aren't having to deal with trapped hairs and threads underneath. Best of all, it is bagless and has any easy to release cup where you can dump out what you catch...like Cheerios or cornflakes!
I would highly recommend this vacuum and can't wait to put it to the Clark test and see if it can survive a few years of hard work in our house.
Here are a few easy tips for picking a cordless vacuum that will be a good fit for your family:
1. You will be much happier with whatever you are purchasing if you can test drive it. Borrow one from a friend or just take them through a spin in the aisle. It would be ideal if you could use it, but if you can't just try pushing it around to see if it glides easily.
2. Pick a store that has a good return policy. I knew that Target is pretty good about returns, so I picked that store. In the case of the Shark, I read a story of one lady who had went through three in a month so it is good that the return policy would allow her to do that.
3. Online stores are great and might have more affordable pricing on these, but the pure and simple fact is, if it is defective or you just plain hate it, you have to ship that back. Who wants to be running a sweeper over to the post office? Physical stores are better in this case.
4. Sometimes extras (which cost extra) aren't worth it. Stick to the basic functions and look for ones that offer the best sweeper for your money.
5. Just like all things, the highest price does not make it the best. Some of the higher priced models had a lot less power than the one I purchased.

Lightweight and easy to use, this cordless stick vac works great for keeping low-pile area rugs and all bare-floor surfaces clean throughout the house. Its unique V-shaped base directs large debris into the center suction path while picking up fine particles along the arms. The angle of the arms increase air flow, allowing for greater suction at the end points of the base, which means the unit captures debris that normally gets left behind in corners and other hard-to-reach areas. In addition, it provides a comfortable handle, a bagless dirt container, a low-profile base for access under furniture, and a foot-activated power switch. The rechargeable bare-floor vacuum cleaner delivers up to 20 minutes of cleaning power per charge and measures 8-4/5 by 10-1/2 by 43-1/2 inches.
